Good Morning,
The Superintendent and Board Chair called an Emergency meeting last night per School Board policy BEB to respond to the immediate needs in the building due to the pinhole in the coil and we wanted to provide you with an update.
During the meeting last night, the following measures were approved:
- Installation of six temporary ceiling mounted heaters in all 5th and 6th grade classrooms.
- This will allow us to turn off the air handler, eliminating the smell in those rooms while maintaining warmth through the new units.
- This work is expected to be completed by early next week, enabling 5th and 6th-grade students to return to their regular classrooms.
- These heaters are semi-permanent and can be relocated to other rooms in the future if needed.
- Formally approved expedited shipping for a new coil (already ordered) to replace the one with the pinhole.
- This work is scheduled to be completed over the MLK weekend and the holiday on Monday, when school is not in session.
- This morning we have received nine industrial air purifiers on loan from the Raymond School District. These have been placed in the upstairs classrooms that have been most affected to improve air quality and the Board approved the purchase of more, if needed.
We are doing our best to alleviate as much interruption as possible and deeply appreciate your patience and flexibility during this time as we all work together to tackle these challenges.Thank you for your continued support as we move toward a resolution that ensures the safety and comfort of our students and staff.
