A message from Mr. Doherty:

April 2025

Spring Sports Season is here!

Baseball and softball are underway and practices have already started.  We are still looking for a few softball players to join the consolidated team with Deerfield Community School.  Practices will be taking place in Deerfield beginning next week so let me know if you are interested in playing

Track & FIeld is soon to follow and is scheduled to start on Monday, April 14th.  It’s not too late to sign up.  Please be sure to complete the other sports forms if you are new to participating in school sports…..and be sure that the School Nurse has a current, valid sports physical in order to participate.  Since there are no tryouts for Track & Field, you must have the three forms listed below and a valid sports physical on file by the first day of practice.  At this time, the Coastal Track League is working on track locations for our meets and we should know more information in the next week or two.  Thank you for your patience.

In order to participate in sports there are a few forms that need to completed prior to being eligible to participate in school sports.  If you have already completed these forms for Fall Sports - You do not need to complete them again - only one time for each school year.  These following forms are all digital forms and will be sent to each grade level email groups and include the following:

  1. Permission to Participate Waiver
  2. Student Health Questionnaire Form
  3. Parent/Athlete Concussion Information Form

Additionally, your student/athlete will need to have a current, up to date sports physical on file with the school nurse in order to participate in practices or tryouts... so please, be sure there is a current sports physical on file with the school nurse, Stasia Cardillo, prior to Friday, April 11th. Once a student/athlete is signed up I will cross-reference with forms from last year as well.

The sports webpage has a number of links to area Urgent Care or Sports medicine facilities that offer walk-in sports physical for a small fee if you are unable to get into your primary medical care provider prior to the start of school.

Click on any of the the facilities listed below to be directed to their website:

Look forward to seeing you out on the fields or the track this Spring!
