Good Morning,
As you are all aware, there was work scheduled over the long weekend on our HVAC system. In addition the extreme weather conditions have resulted in needed attention to the overall system:
- Coil Replacement: The coil with the pinhole was successfully replaced yesterday as scheduled.
- Power Issue: Late last night, a technician was called as there was a partial power failure in Nottingham, which caused low pressure in our system. They remained on-site until the system was stable.
- System Stability: This morning, a technician is working to maintain stable system pressure, ensuring we can keep the school open during these frigid temperatures.
- Preventative Maintenance: A company visited this morning to add a corrosion inhibitor to the glycol as part of our preventative maintenance plan.
During the course of this work, some propylene glycol odors were detected in parts of the building, including the main hallway and some classrooms. As always, we recognize that individuals may experience these smells differently.
Currently, Mr. Metz’s kindergarten class has opted to move to an alternative space for now, with hopes of returning to their classroom later today.
We will continue to provide updates if there are any significant changes or developments as we monitor and assess the system day and night.
Your collaboration as a community is appreciated as we work through these challenges.
Respectfully,
Ronna & Jeff
